About the Position

The mission of the drinking water department is to ensure a safe supply of drinking water of good quality. The department employs around 25 staff and consists of two sections, Process and Development and Operations. The Operations section manages the daily operations of all Uppsala Water's water treatment plants, raw water facilities, and associated booster stations, performing preventive and corrective maintenance according to the operational plan. The section currently consists of 12 people.

As an operations technician, you will have a varied job with the opportunity to work on technical problem-solving, both independently and in collaboration with others. You will be responsible for operational and maintenance work at our municipal water treatment plants. Monitoring and following up on the water treatment processes is also an important part of the tasks.

In the coming years, many projects will take place within the drinking water supply, a development journey that we hope you want to contribute to with your technical expertise.

Your workplace will be at Gränby Water Treatment Plant, and working hours are 07:00-16:00. On-call duty is included in the position.

Qualifications

• High school education and relevant work experience
• Good computer skills as a large part of the work involves operational monitoring
• Driver's license B is a requirement
• Education and/or experience in control and regulation technology is an advantage
• Experience with maintenance systems is an advantage, we work in IDUS
• Experience from industry, e.g., process, manufacturing, or workshop industry is an advantage

Additional Information

A large part of our operations is classified as critical infrastructure as we supply Sweden's fourth largest city with drinking water. For this position, a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment. You should also be prepared to be assigned to a role within Uppsala Water and Waste's responsibilities in total defense. Uppsala Water applies a 6-month probationary period.
